You may have different meanings, or meanings you want to add to these so go for it.  You might also know of other colors and what their meanings are.  If so send them to me via email at nodntap@yahoo.com.  The few I have added myself have asterisks in front of them.

The Magician

Now take a look at some of the meanings usually associated with The Magician in the Rider-Waite or Robin Wood decks.

The Magician
Mastery of special knowledge, focused energy, ability to achieve your goal, transformation through will-power, ability to harness creative forces, self-determination, self-awareness, virility, the virile son/Innovator archetype

The dominate colors in this card are Yellow and Red.

Yellow The sun, vitality, good energy, healing, enthusiasm, joy, intelligence, study, persuasion, charm, creativity, communication, *cooperation
Red Passion for life, fire, passion, lust, will-power, courage, energy, strength, anger, aggression, danger, power, desire, sexual love

Sounds to me like the two colors had him down pretty good.

The 8 of Wands

One of the cards I have always had trouble with is the 8 of Wands (in fact there are 3 or 4 Wands I have problems with).  It has 8 wands flying through the air.

8 of Wands
Swift action, forward motion, smooth rapid progress

The primary color in this card is blue.

Blue Tranquility, truth, thoughtfulness, peace, calmness, deep as the ocean, high as the sky, protection, hope, honor, change, psychic abilities, *flight-soaring, *speed/quickness/rushing (like a stream or some birds)

Calmness and speed may not seem to go together unless you think about how one moment a river is calm and the next the water is rushing to beat the band.  Same with the sky, one minute it's all calm and peaceful and the next the wind is blowing like crazy, it's raining cats and dogs, or the snow is coming down so hard and fast you think it's about to beat you to death.

So you could consider this a swift change, or fast action.  Smooth rapid progress might be equated to the ever flowing currents in a stream or river.

NOTE
For the 8 of Wands I like to use the following for my main meaning. 'A swift resolution to a problem or situation'.
