Trials and Tribulations Spread

Question:

I once again pulled the Queen of Cups for my daily card. It is the third time this time. I know this card means to be sensitive and intuitive, caring. Hmmm I wonder what is the tarot trying to tell me, any insights on this anyone?

The only thing that has been sensitive today is my nose...seems I caught a cold bug or something.

One Possible Answer: The Daily Trail Spread

You might ask your cards for further guidance.  Try this the next time you pull up the same daily card over and over.

You pull up the: Queen of Cups (or whatever card over and over).  This card now becomes your Significator card.  Place it to your left. Do NOT reshuffle and/or re-cut your deck.

Deal 3 more cards to the right of the Queen of Cups.  If a Major Arcana card OR another Court card come up keep dealing cards onto that card until you get a pip card (Ace to Ten) asking for further guidance as you do so.

The card positions would read like so.

Significator.....Current Situation.....Outcome.....Beware

Now if you did have a Major(s) come up, or another Court card(s) you can read those into the reading if you want or just read the final 3 pip cards for the reading.  The Beware card is/are things you need to look out for during the day, or within yourself.  Or it might also re-enforce one or more of the other cards in the spread and usually will point back at the Significator card.

I asked my cards to tell me why you continued to pull up the Queen of Cups and here is what I got.

Significator            Queen of Cups
Current Situation   5 of Pentacles
Outcome                The Empress, Page of Cups, King of Cups, Queen of Pentacles, 9 of Cups
Beware                  The Sun, 8 of Swords

The Big Picture

The 5 of Pentacles is telling me you're not feeling very well today but because of the 9 of Cups you will get better and things will start looking up.  The Beware card is the 8 of Swords and of course it directs itself back at the Significator the Queen of Cups telling you not to let your emotions become blocked and that you might be suffering from lack of self-assertion or that you feel emotionally boxed in for some reason.

Because of all the Cups and all the cards that came up under Outcome let me ask.
  1. Do you have issues with your mother or another nurturing female?
  2. Have you had some news lately that might have been unexpected or unlooked for?
  3. Do you need to speak with your father or another dominate male figure in your life.  Perhaps he will lend a compassionate ear if you need one.
  4. And the Queen of Pentacles is telling you to use, and to be, more sensible.
  5. The Sun means you are seeking enlightenment, but at what cost to you since it is in the Beware position?  It could also be forecasting the weakening of the Sun's beneficial effects thus causing ill health because it is in the Beware position followed by the 8 of Swords.

I can see why you keep getting the Queen of Cups up in your daily one card reading.  As the 8 of Swords implies you appear to be going in a vicious circle and that your emotions are being blocked or hidden and you may not even realize it (or don't want to).  But as the 9 of Cups tells us you should be fine and that contentment and gratification are just around the corner as long as you keep your emotions under control.

Your Day

Overall you probably aren't going to have a really great day because it looks like the 5 of Pentacles is going to really kick in and your sniffles will probably get worse which is implied by the 8 of Swords (blockage).  But that you will get better (9 of Cups) after about 4 or 5 days as indicated by the number of cards under Outcome (plus this is usually how long a cold takes to run it's course-a no brainer here folks).

The spread above is called the Daily Trials and Tribulations Spread and it's one of my own.  If you give it a try let me know what you come up with and the results.  It works for me but may not for everyone.  I usually find it pretty revealing.
